The Bali Starling

Kintamani sits at 1,000 to 1,500 metres above sea level between the Batukaru and Agung volcanoes. It has a Geographical Indication status, which protects the quality of its coffee and helps preserve traditional farming methods. The Karana community comprises 377 smallholders who farm 477 hectares in the highlands. They work together as a Subak Abian and follow the Balinese Hindu principle of Tri Hita Karana, which teaches that fulfilment comes from harmony with God, people, and nature. For over a century, they have practised organic farming here. Their coffee reflects this philosophy. It is vibrant, pure, and full of rich fruit flavours, with notes of toffee, dried apricot, dried plum, and dark chocolate. The taste is mellow and sweet, with a pleasantly tart finish. It truly is pure Bali in a cup.
